Kasargod: A raid was conducted by the Kumble police here near Gopalakrishna hall in Shantipalla, where they intercepted a car and seized unaccounted cash worth Rs. 14, 26,500 on 16th February, Friday.
The occupant of the car, identify as Abdul Asif (48yrs) was arrested by the police. Abdul is a resident of Adur Kadamkode.
According to sources, the raid was conducted by the police based on credible information by undisclosed sources. The police team led by Kumble police circle inspector, K Prem Sadan arrived at the spot and seized the cash which was hidden beneath the car seat covered in old newspapers.
The accused has not yet been able to provide proof of how he acquired the money. A case stands registered at Kumble police station.
