Bhatkal: An incident was reported here at Kargadde in the taluk, where the concrete slab of a house collapsed, as a result, a labor lost his life. The incident happened on 5th October, Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Lokesh Masthi Gonda (24yrs), a resident of Marvekeri village in the taluk.
According to the sources, the work of demolishing an old house named 'Al-Afeef' was going from past few days. However, during Thursday afternoon, Lokesh was undertaking the work after climbing the slab and as the slab fell down he came under it and died on spot.
After a lot of efforts from the youths and JCB machine, the police were successful in retrieving Lokesh’s body from the debris and shifted it to Bhatkal government hospital for post-mortem.
A case has been registered at Bhatkal rural police station.
