Karwar: A man was sentenced to life imprisonment by the District and Session Judge Vittal S Dharwadkar for murdering his wife in 2014.

The judge has also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the judge pronounced Prashanth, guilty of killing his wife Bhavani Naik on March 31, 2014 at her parents house, in Kumta.

Police investigations established that he had stabbed her to death. Police officials B Shivakumar and K Srikanth had worked on the case and gathered all the relevant proofs to establish Prashanth’s crime.
