Mangaluru: ‘It has been decided by the MCC (Mangaluru City Corporation) to allot flats in the ground floor of the Shaktinagar housing project to the physically challenged people’, said MLA J R Lobo while speaking at a press meet.

The housing project was established by converging grants from Central, state governments, MCC and beneficiaries in order to construct flats for the urban poor. Around 930 beneficiaries have been selected and the allotment of flats will occur through a lottery, which will be held at Mangaluru Town Hall on Tuesday.

He further said, “Chief Whip of the Government in Legislative Council Ivan D’Souza directed the lead bank to ensure that the beneficiaries do not face any hurdle in the sanctioning of the loan.”

“Solar power units should be installed in all the households”, he added.

Mayor Kavitha Sanil, MCC Commissioner Mohammed Nazeer and others were present.
