Mangaluru: In a heartbreaking incident, the lifeless bodies of four SSLC students from Vidhyadayini High School in Surathkal identified as Yashvith Chandrakant, Nirup, Anvith, and Raghavendra were found near the river at Pavanje, Haleangadi on February 28.

The students had gone missing after attending their English Preparatory examination on February 27, prompting their parents to file a missing persons complaint at Suratkal police station.

Subsequently, the police conducted a search operation, utilizing CCTV footage to trace the students' movements. The investigation revealed that the students had boarded a bus in Suratkal and disembarked in Haleangadi.

Tracing the tower location of one student's mobile phone led the police to the vicinity of the river, where they found the students' belongings.

Their bodies were later located and moved to the Government Wenlock Hospital for post-mortem.

A case had been registered at the Suratkal police station.
