Mangaluru: In light of the Lok Sabha elections scheduled for Friday in the Dakshina Kannada constituency, efforts have been made to adjust the Namaz timings in mosques throughout the district.

“Fridays witness a congregation of Muslims for Namaz in mosques, typically following synchronized prayer timings. The District Waqf Advisory Committee has advised mosque management committees to revise the prayer timings to facilitate voters,” remarked DK Waqf Advisory Committee Chairman B A Abdul Nasir.

Consequently, mosque committees have initiated adjustments, he added. Highlighting the concern that voters may miss the prayer if delayed at the polling station, he noted that Namaz is scheduled at 1 pm in some mosques, while in others, it will be observed at 1.15 pm or 1.30 pm.
