Bantawal: Five students feared drowned while swimming in river, one's body found

Bantawal: A disgusting incident has been reported in Mullarpatna region under Arala gram limits of Bantwal taluk in Dakshina Kannada district on 6th November, Monday, where a group of five students who went to swimming in a nearby river were reportedly drowned, the body of one boy has been recovered till Tuesday. The deceased boy has been identified as and Sawwad S/o Muhammad (17).

The missing boys were identified as Aslam  S/o Ashraf  (17), Rameez S/o Shareef (17), Azmath S/o Hamza (18) and Mubasshir S/o Shareef (18).All are said to be the residents of Mullarpatna Shashitlu.

Sources said saying that the boys had been for swimming in Phalguni river in the Monday afternoon observing the holiday for school. Though the boys were not back to home by night, feared by this, parents started up phoning them. Further, they started for searching after the boys didn't pick up the calls.

Their cellphones along with clothes were found near River. Bantawal police inspector along with his personnel rushed to the spot and conducted the search operation. With the help of expert swimmers, the search for other bodies is being carried.
