Gold worth of 34.17 lakh confiscated from a washroom in Mangaluru International Airport

Mangaluru: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officers at Mangaluru International Airport have seized 1166.5 grams of gold biscuits which were kept hidden in the washroom.

As per the reports, DRI received the information that an Unknown passenger in Jet flight SG60 had been to Mangaluru airport from Dubai and has left behind the gold biscuit packet in a washroom attached to the immigration area, which was then brought out by the cleaning staff.

On this alert, the DRI officials raided on a particular washroom and found a packet wrapped with an insulation tape which carried foreign gold biscuits of ten numbers of 24 carrots. The estimated value of the gold seized is said as 34,17,845 rupees.
