3 arrested for looting passengers near Mangaluru, 2 still at large

Mangaluru: Three people were nabbed by the Panambur police on 16th February, Friday for brandishing lethal weapons and looting vehicles here at Kudremukh Junction.

The arrested accused were identified as Pradeep Kumar (47yrs) from Udupi, Sunil (20yrs) from Kudroli Bengre and Charan from Bihar. The police have confiscated swords, chilli powder and rope from the arrested.

Two others who were present with the accused managed to escape. The absconding accused are Bharath and Naveen.

According to sources, the gang was collecting money to execute a murder conspiracy against the members of Aneesh’s gang who were involved in the murder of Bharatesh’s brother Shivaraj.

The raid was conducted by the police based on the credible information received early morning that a gang was looting the vehicles passing through Thannirbavi crossroad.

The police found five people with two-wheelers at the said spot, but two of them managed to escape. The murder conspiracy was unearthed by the police during the interrogation.
