Mangaluru: Lokayukta officials conducted raids on both the office and home of Shanthakumar, an Executive Engineer at MESCOM, in Mangaluru. 

The allegations include the possession of assets exceeding his reported income. Shanthakumar has held the position in the Attavar division of MESCOM for approximately five to six years.

Furthermore, the Lokayukta extended its operation to Bengaluru, where they also searched Shanthakumar's residence.

In a broader investigation, Lokayukta officials in Karnataka undertook simultaneous raids at 40 locations targeting 10 government officials on Wednesday. This action was part of an ongoing inquiry into allegations of disproportionate assets against these individuals.
