Mangaluru: An incident has been reported here in the city where a man was robbed of Rs. 60,000 after he disclosed his bank details to a caller who introduced himself as a bank officer on 17th January, Wednesday.
The victim has been identified as Isac Frank, a resident of the city.
According to the complaint filed by Isac, he received a call on Wednesday from a person who claimed to be an executive of the State Bank of India. The caller then inquired if he had linked his bank account to Aadhar or not and later asked for his ATM card number and other details.
Isac provided all the asked details to the caller without realizing that it was a fraud call. He only realized that he was cheated when he received a message on his phone from the bank stating that Rs. 59,995 had been withdrawn from his bank account.
The bank has urged its customers not to disclose any details about their accounts to any if they receive any such calls.
