Mangaluru: A complaint has been lodged at the Konaje police station by a woman alleging that her husband, who had been already married twice of ‘love Jihad’.

The accused Asif (35yrs) is a resident of Rantadka Boliar. Even though he already had two wives and three children, Asif has allegedly married again to a Hubballi-origin Hindu girl.

According to the complaint registered by his second wife Afsa, Asif had married her eighteen years ago without informing her about his first marriage and child. Later, he had a son and a daughter with her too and as the children grew up, he deserted them and went looking for a job.

However, since she did not hear from him for long, she sought help of Women SHG’s to trace him and at last found out that he was residing near Deralkatte. She also found out that he had married again to a Hindu woman in Hubballi and has been living with her.

Seeing this, Afsa had filed a complaint at Konaje police station and after the police’s interference, Asif had promised to give her Rs 2,000 for her expenses per month. But he has not paid any money for the last three years and hence, she is struggling to look after her two children.

Afsa has now lodged a complaint of 'love Jihad' against her husband. She has accused him of having 'converted' the Hindu girl in order to marry her.
