Mangaluru: Four people were injured after lightning struck a house at Kallenchinapade in Alige village near Vittal.

The injured persons were identified as Sheena Nalike, Susheela, Vidya and Vinaya.

Lightning struck Sheena Nalike's house late on Thursday night.

Such was the impact of the lightning that a wall of the house developed cracks. All the electrical wiring equipment were damaged.

In the past 24 hours (ending at 8.30 am on Friday), Dakshina Kannada (DK) district received an average of 15.2 mm rainfall. The district has received 3,539.7 mm rainfall since January this year.
