Mangaluru: A police head constable attached to Urwa police station died after suffering a heart attack on Saturday.
According to police, Sidharth J (41) complained of severe chest pain at around 9pm on Friday and was taken to Father Muller Hospital.
Doctors performed angioplasty during his treatment. However, he failed to respond to the treatment and died at 3am on Saturday.
Hailing from Puttur, he joined the department in 2002 and served at Mangaluru east, south and Urwa police stations.
Sidharth is survived by his his parents, sister, wife and a son.
"Youngest member of the police family to succumb to heart attack, Siddhartha J HC-424 attached to Urwa Police Station has breathed his last. May his soul rest in peace," tweeted N Shashi Kumar, city police commissioner.
