‘Matsya Darshini’ outlet in Karwar on the cards

Karwar: The much anticipated Karnataka Fisheries Development Corporation’s (KFDC) ‘Matsya Darshini’ will soon be opened. Officials are planning to start this food outlet at Kali River Garden.

More than 20 varieties of food items prepared using different varieties of fishes will be available here.

The corporation has decided to prepare food items as per the wishes of the consumers. Leisure Route company has decided to take a stall on rent at Kali river garden to start the ‘Matsya Darshini’.

The process of signing the rental agreement and other papers have, however, been stalled due to the enforcement of model code of conduct following announcement of the assembly elections.

KFDC Managing Director M L Doddamani said top priority would be given to local fisherman to supply for food outlet.

He said that the company is planning to hire a 20X20 stall and start the ‘Matsya Darshini’.

The Corporation is hopeful that the food outlet will be successful as they had received good response from the people of City when they had set up a stall during the Karavali Utsav and food fest.

He said for the ‘Matsya Darshini’ to sustain, we have to do a business of Rs 15,000 a day. Four people will be hired for the food outlet. Based on the response from the people the corporation will decide to go for expansion.

Doddamani said top priority will be given to local fisherman to supply for the food outlet. “This will also help the food outlet to provide fresh fishes and cut the transport cost of fishes from other areas,” he said.

Fish lovers can enjoy rice, chapathi meals, fish curry, fish cutlet, fish chili, fish biryani, anjal fry, fish kebab, shigadi fry, bangude fry, manji fry, kane fish fry, fish manchuri, fish sasuge, butterfly shigadi, fish finger, fish fried rice, fish noodles, fish samosa, fish fillets, grill fish, prawn chili, prawn manchuri and fish pickles.
