Puttur: A complaint was filed at Kadaba police station regarding an assault on a Mangaluru Electricity Supply Company Limited (MESCOM) personnel on 12th January, Friday.
The MESCOM personnal assaulted was Ramesh Patil and the accused has been identified as T V Kurian, a resident of Alangaje Tarepel near Renjiladi.
According to sources, Ramesh had come to Kurian’s residence in order to disconnect the power supply as the bill amount for Rs. 460 was due for payment. However, it is learnt that Kurian allegedly manhandled Ramesh and also used abusive language against him.
Later, the MESCOM personnel of Kadaba zone gathered near Kadaba police station demanding immediate action and the complaint was registered. Kurian was summoned to the police station and warned not to take law into his hands and a written undertaking was also taken from him on the same.
