Karwar: The Met Department has warned of a possible cyclone hitting the Uttar kannada district, following a sudden depression in the Arabian Sea on Monday. They have predicted that this depression may soon turn into a cyclone.
A message has been posted on Met Department website. The cyclone will have its effect on Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, South Karnataka and Goa, which will witness heavy rains. Fishermen have been warned not venture into deep sea from may 21 to 23.
Fisheries Department Deputy Director Santosh Koppad said, impact of cyclone will not be much. Wind speed in Arabian Sea is 19 Km per hour and is normal like any day, he added.
