Haliyal: Minister and Congress candidate R V Deshpande claimed that the Congress would retain power in the State for the next administration period too. Congress candidates will win in all the six constituencies in the district, he added.

He was speaking after exercising his franchise along with his family at MLA’s Model School in the town on Saturday.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah led State government had implemented many pro-people projects and schemes in its five years administration. It had fulfilled all the 165 promises made during previous election manifesto. Hence, people of the State will back up Congress in next term too, he assured.

In Haliyal constituency, many developmental works have been taken up and properly implemented. I had always tried to reach the people who are in problems. Hence, this time too, people will elect me, he said.

He cast vote along with his wife Radha Deshpnade, sons Prashant, Prasad and daughter-in-laws.

BJP candidate Sunil Hegde also cast votes along with his family.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that people of the country are impressed by the working style and pro-people thinking of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Hence, in State, BJP will comes to power, as people expect change in future. He was accompanied by wife Suvarna Hegde, MLC V D Hegde, his wife and son Vishnu Hegde.

MLC S L Ghotnekar performed his ‘right to vote’ by casting votes along with his family at Block Education Officer’s polling booth.
