Udupi: District In-charge Minister Pramod Madhwaraj has accused Uttara Kannada parliamentarian Ananth Kumar Hegde of intending to create communal disturbances through his Facebook post.

Speaking to media persons here on Friday, the minister said that the parliamentarian is planning to disturb peace in the society. His controversial status on Facebook is solely aimed at politically motivated initiatives, he charged.

He alleged that BJP national president Amith Shah is guiding his party men to indulge in violence as the elections are nearing. All the disturbing communal incidents recently are carried out following his instructions, he alleged and said that BJP will be taught a lesson by the voters who are fed up with the party’s communal agenda.

Shah had also made Mysuru MP Prathap Simha to do so. The video showing a conversation had gone viral. BJP aims at creating violence and making people suffer, he said referring to the communal disturbance in Uttara Kannada.

Madhwaraj added that there is no comparison between Gujarat and Karnataka and that the Gujarat poll campaign result will not affect Karnataka polls.

He challenged the prime minister and the BJP national president to take up the campaign in Karnataka.

Asserting that there are no differences in the party, the minister said that Congress is all set to work in unity to clinch the victory.

“Party president G Parameshwara will be taking part in the electioneering in the opposition party’s stronghold areas, while the chief minister will travel to all the areas where Congress has its sway,” he explained.

Madhwaraj said there is nothing new about veteran Congress leader Jaffer Sharif expressing his dissatisfaction. It is the senior attitude of the leader. There is no difference and the Congress leader will sort it out amicably, he claimed.
