Udupi: The personnel attached to Railway Protection Force (RPF) rescued a minor girl who was abandoned at Udupi railway station after being abducted from Chandigarh.

RPF Udupi was notified by Chandigarh police about a 16-year-old girl, who was kidnapped, and  later abandoned at Udupi railway station.

RPF Assistant SI Sudhir Shetty found the kidnapped girl with a youth and escorted her to the RPF office in Udupi. The minor had revealed that she left home 10 days ago without informing her parents and was unaware how she had arrived in Udupi.

The case was later handed over to Udupi Town Police for completing legal formalities.
