Mangaluru: A portrait of former Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi was smeared with black ink by miscreants in an attack on the under-construction Indira Canteen at Suratkal here. The incident came to light on 3rd February, Saturday.
The portrait of Indhira Gandhi was put up outside the outlet of state government's Indira Canteen which is under construction in Suratkal.
The police suspect that miscreants may have committed the act of smearing black ink on the portrait in the wee hours on Saturday. As the news spread, the locals have expressed their anger over the incident.
A case stands registered at Suratkal police station.
