Bhatkal: Miscresnts tried to set ablaze a stall and an autorickshaw parked  outside a house in Asarkeri, Bhatkal. The incident occured during the wee hours of Wednesday. The autorickshaw belonged to Manjunath Nagappa Naik.

According to the complaint, Manjunath said that two unidentified miscreants made attempted to torch his vehicle and fled the scene. The incident came to light when the members of his home came out after hearing to their dog barking in the night. Although they could not catch the people behind the attempt, they however, they were successful in dousing the fire. 

The miscreants had also disconnected the street lights in the area right before the incident, he said.

Bhatkal town police has registered a case and investigations are on.
