
Bhatkal: The Qazis of Bhatkal have confirmed multiple reports of moon sightings, officially declaring the end of Ramadan and announcing that Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Monday, March 31.
Reports from Kasarkod-Tonka in Honnavar Taluk indicate that several people sighted the moon near the seashore. Similar confirmations have been received from various parts of neighboring Kerala. Additionally, Eid has been declared in several cities, including Mangaluru, Honnavar, Kumta, Delhi, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Patna, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru.
With widespread confirmations of moon sightings and Eid announcements across multiple states, it is expected that the festival will be celebrated with great enthusiasm throughout India on Monday.
Eid Prayers and Sermon in Bhatkal
In Bhatkal, the Eid prayer will be held at Eidgah Maidan at 7:15 AM, led by Maulana Abdul Aleem Khateeb Nadvi, the Khatib of Jamia Masjid. The Arabic sermon will follow the prayer, with its summary later presented in Urdu. The Eidgah Committee has urged the Muslim community to not only perform the Eid prayer but also attentively listen to the sermon to understand its significance.
