Belthangady: An incident was reported near Kalinaja village in Belthangady, where a mother along with her two children committed suicide by jumping into the well.

According to the sources, the mother Jayalaxmi (27) jumped into the well along with her 3.5-Year-Old son Dikshit and 6-Month-Old daughter, when the family members were out with some work. It was also learnt that her husband was employed in Kerala, who had been to Diwali festival and had returned back three days earlier. Jayalaxmi was in her mother's home for the delivery of her second child and had returned in-laws for Diwali.

The reason for taking up this extreme step of suicide is not known. 

Asthe information was alerted, Dharmasthala police along with Belthangady tahsildar rushed to the spot and conducted necessary investigations. 

A case has been registered in Dharmasthala police station.
