Bhatkal: In a shocking incident, a man died of cardiac arrest after watching his mother's dead body who also passed away at her house in Mohiddin Street of Madeena colony in Bhatkal on Tuesday afternoon.

The victim son is Fakki Ismail Malpa (56), while his mother is Shahar Banu Malpa (80).

Sources say, Shahar Banu Malpa breathed her last due at her house in Mohiddin street 2nd cross in the afternoon. On hearing the news of mother's demise, son Ismail immediately rushed to see her. On returning back to his home in Mohiddin street 1st cross, he too underwent a cardiac arrest. He was then boarded to Mangaluru for treatments, but unfortunately, he breathed his last on the way. 

The last rites of both will be performed at Bhatkal Jamia Masjid after Magrib prayers.
