Mundgod: A 57-year-old man, identified as Godappa Jadar, drowned while fishing in a pond at Salgaon village in Mundgod Taluk.

Reports indicate that Jadar lost balance when his feet got entangled in aquatic weeds, causing his tube to overturn and leading to his drowning. Villagers spotted his floating body and alerted the police.

Mundgod police retrieved the body and registered a case for further investigation.
