Bhatkal: Nagendra Naik, who was aspiring to get Janata Dal (Secular) ticket, too has announced that he will not be seeking the ticket. Earlier, he was trying to receive ticket after withdrawal of Tanzeem nominated candidate Inayatullah Shabandari from Bhatkal constituency for forthcoming assembly elections.

In a press statement, he said, though he wanted to contest as JD(S) candidate, he was forced to withdraw from the contest because of the lack of suitable response from the party.

"As the election are fast approaching, there is very little time for preparations. Moreover, the leaders of my community are insisting that I should not contest, Hence, I have decided to withdraw from the contest," he clarified.
