Bhatkal: Aftab Hussain Kola has been elected as the new President, while Adil Nagarmat has been appointed as the new General Secretary of the Indian Nawayath Forum (INF) during its annual meeting held in Manipal on Sunday. The election of INF office bearers for the three-year term (2025-2028) also took place during the meeting, where Hashim Mohtisham Barni was elected as the First Vice President, Fayyaz Mohtisham as the Second Vice President, Ghufran Lanka as the Secretary, Umar Khalifa as the Treasurer, and Faizan Lanka as the Internal Auditor.
The meeting was attended by nearly 100 members representing all eight affiliated Bhatkali Jamaats of the INF.
Notably, Aftab Hussain Kola is an active member of Bhatkali Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen, Mangaluru, while Adil Nagarmat is a prominent member of Bhatkal Muslim Jamaat, Mumbai.
Several former office bearers, including S.M. Arshad, Nauman Patel, Muaz Jukaku, and Tanveer Motia, were also present at the event. The newly appointed leaders expressed their commitment to strengthening the INF and contributing to the progress of the Nawayath community.
It is worth mentioning that the INF, comprising eight Bhatkali Muslim Jamaats from across India, has been actively organizing various initiatives for the development of the Bhatkal community and addressing its key concerns. These efforts include providing employment opportunities for unemployed youth, introducing new business ventures for entrepreneurs, and promoting locally manufactured Bhatkal products across the country. Initiatives such as job fairs and trade expos have gained immense popularity, helping businesses flourish and fostering economic growth within the community.
