Bhatkal: The new office bearers of Markazi Khaleefa Jamaat Ul Muslimeen Bhatkal were elected on January 29, 2018, Monday. Mr. Mohtesham Muhammad Jaffar has been elected as the new chief while Mr. Askeri Hameedullah has been chosen as the general secretary. The local and external members of the administration were elected in two sessions held earlier. The election saw an active participation from the youth.

The elections were convened smoothly under the election commissioner Mr. Ismail Jubapu . Mr. Ismail Shabandari explained that there are altogether 130 members in the Jamaat. 10 members from the previous administration have been re- elected and three members have been elected for president's post." He said. It may be noted that out of the 130 executive members, 65 are local residents who reside in Bhatkal while the remaining 65 are Bhatkalis who reside out of the region.
