New SP of Uttara Kannada M. Narayan visits Bhatkal; announces Police Day to start from Friday

Bhatkal: New SP of Uttara Kannada M. Narayan visited Bhatkal on Thursday, during which a meeting was held with the officers of the department at Bhatkal Town Police Station. On the occasion of the new SP's first visit to Bhatkal, he received official honors.

In the meeting with police officials, the actions of the Bhatkal police, the number and conditions of cases listed, along with a review of the number of officers and personnel posted in Bhatkal, were discussed. He highlighted the required procedures of police operations in Bhatkal.

SP Narayan emphasized that more vigilance should be exercised in cases of oppression of women and children, and special attention should be paid to such matters. He instructed that in any case of crime, there should be no negligence or carelessness.

The District Superintendent of Police clarified that illegal activities like drugs, matka, and gambling have increased in the district. He warned that if it comes to light that policemen are involved in any such activities, strict and decisive action will be taken against them.

Speaking to the media, SP Narayan said that people should be made aware of new laws. He mentioned that a new law named 'Social Service' has been issued, under which a person who repeatedly commits petty crimes will be made to do cleaning work as punishment.

M. Narayan stated that strict action will be taken against those who spread false news and those who try to spoil the environment through social media.

'Police Day' Initiatives:
SP Narayan announced the start of 'Police Day' from Friday. He said that a 'Police Day' program will be organized every day in schools and colleges with the aim of creating awareness among the youth regarding POCSO and other laws, and preventing youth from falling prey to drug addiction and vices through the internet. He emphasized the goal of making the police more people-friendly and bringing the community closer to the police.

Tanzeem Welcomes New SP:
A delegation from Bhatkal's biggest and oldest social organization, Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem, welcomed the new SP by garlanding him and offering their best wishes. The delegation was led by Tanzeem president Inayatullah Shabandari, with other members of the Tanzeem also present on the occasion.

Bhatkal DySP Mahesh MK, Circle Police Inspector of Town Police Station Gopi Krishna, Rural Police Station Chandan Gopal, including other police officers, were present on this occasion.
