Bhatkal: A bike rider was killed and another injured when a car hit two bikes in succession. The accident occurred on Sunday night at Shirali NH 66, under the Bhatkal rural police station limits.

According to sources, a car traveling from Murdeshwar to Bhatkal collided with a bike heading from Kaikini to Shirali Alvekodi. The bike rider, identified as Ramchandra Nagesh Moger (42), was seriously injured in the impact. He was taken to Manipal for treatment but succumbed to his injuries.

The same car later collided with another bike, injuring the riders. It is learned that the car driver fled the scene, leaving the car near Venktapur. The other bike riders sustained minor injuries.

A case has been registered at the Bhatkal rural police station.
