Kumta: A pedestrian was killed on the spot in a hit-and-run incident that happened in the late night of Sunday near Mirzan NH-66 in the taluk.

The deceased is said to be an origin of Kerala state.

The impact of the collision was such that the victim sustained critical head injuries, which as result succumbed to it on the spot. Sources informed that the accident took place nearly around 3 am.

The body has been shifted to Kumta govt hospital, while the police are tracing out to catch the vehicle involved in the mishap.
