Yellapur: Deputy Commissioner S S Nakul chairing a meeting of block level officials to discuss preparations for ensuing assembly elections at Taluk Panchayat office here, on Tuesday, sought information about the first phase preparations for the polls.

He instructed officials to perform their election duty with utmost care and caution to ensure free and fair elections.

He said, the officials should collect information connected with candidates, their tours, campaign activities, and poll expenses and supply it to their higher ups concerned.

He asked the officials to compulsorily check all vehicles, including the government vehicles that passed through check posts. The officials should ensure that the poll code of conduct was implemented strictly.

Superintendent of Police Vinayak Patil, ASP D L Pramod gave necessary instructions to the police officials.

Yallapur block level tahsildars, TP executive officers, Town Panchayat Chief Officers, sector officer, CPIs, PSIs and others were present.
