Sirsi: As part of the nation-wide campaign to bring awareness about education, Popular front of India (PFI) Sirsi division organized ‘School Chalo’ program at Government Urdu higher primary school, Manchikeri in Yellapur, coming under Sirsi educational district.
Speaking on this occasion, Chief guest of the function and PFI Sirsi Divisional President Janab Mohsin Honnavar stressed the need for education, being the primary factor for upliftment of the community. He said that only education can bring comprehensive change in the Muslim community.
Urdu higher primary school headmaster, Shri I.D. Rathod expressed his thoughts and said that he shall provide education to all the children those who are away from the schools and try to support them by all means. He emphasised on the quality of education and appreciated the efforts of Popular front of India in providing scholarships and study material to the poor section of the society.
Sirsi PFI Divisonal General secretary Mr. Abdul Gaffar, expressed his opinions about the necessity and the importance of education in the present condition.
SDMC President Riyaz Ahmed delivered his speech and explained the importance of education in all levels of the society. He said that they were planning to provide education not only in the concerned areas but also among the adults of the community.
Manchikeri Muslim Jamaat President Saifuddin Shaikh and Social activist Aftab Sardar too were present on the occasion.
More than 50 students along with their families & friends participated. On this occasion note books and other stationary items were distributed among poor students. Majority of students were from the Government School and from an economically challenged background.
Aziz Ahmed Honnavar delivered welcome note and the program was concluded with vote of thanks.
