Mangaluru: A pillion rider, who was injured after the bike in which he was travelling skidded in Yedamangala near Subrahmanya, succumbed to injuries on Wednesday.

The pillion rider was identified as Suresh (53). He was thrown on the road after the rider tried to avoid hitting a dog but the bike skidded.

Suresh had suffered head injuries and was shifted to a private hospital in Mangaluru.

However, he did not respond to the treatment and succumbed. Bellare police have registered a case.

Rider killed

A rider was killed on the spot after a speeding truck rammed the two-wheeler in which he was travelling in Kalladka on Tuesday night. The deceased was identified as Ganesh. The truck was speeding towards Mangaluru. Bantwal police registered a case against truck driver T Gopal.
