Karwar: It has been planned to develop the City as an attractive tourist spot. He would soon discuss in this regard with City Municipal Council elected representatives including President Nitin Pikale, said Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan.
He was speaking after inaugurating the seventh anniversary of Pahare Vedike in Karwar on Monday.
He said, he would also discuss with citizens about the measures to be initiated for the development of the City. A plan has been prepared for the same, he added.
He said, this year, Karwar City Municipal Council bagged the first rank in the Swachh Survekshan (Cleanliness survey). Civic workers, organisations and people played a vital role in making this achievement, he expressed happiness.
Pahare Vedike President Nagaraj Nayak said, in 2013, the then Deputy Commissioner Ujjwal Kumar Ghosh had launched the cleanliness drive taken up by the Vedike here. Since then, the cleanliness programme is organised by the Vedike every Saturday. The drive would be continued, he added.
Civic workers were felicitated on the occasion. Rajyotsav Award winner Mahadev Velipa presided over the programme.
