Manipal: Manipal police conducted an operation, where 11 people were arrested, including a Gram Panchayat member supported by the BJP, who were involved in organizing a cockfight near Doomavati Daivasthan in Hirebettu village.

The arrested individuals include Shubkara Shetty, Rakesh, Umesh, Vighnesha, Viveka, Dinesh, Ratnakara, Vithala, Rajesh, Jaya, and Sundara, all affiliated with the BJP and residing in Badagabettu gram.

The operation was led by Manipal's Police Inspector, Raghavendra C., based on specific information. During the raid, the police seized Rs. 5,450 in cash, 10 roosters valued at Rs. 2,800, and chicken balls.

A case has been registered at the Manipal Police Station.
