Karwar: Nipah virus is an emerging infectious disease, if the treatment neglected in early stage, it may cause death. Therefore people should give first priority to cleanliness and those who find symptoms of such diseases should immediately contact doctors, said Dr Vinod.

 Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Dr Vinod said there is no specific treatment for the disease therefore if anyone experiences symptoms like fever, headache, drowsiness, disorientation, mental confusion should immediately contact doctors. Otherwise the patient will go to coma stage and gradually die.
