Kundapur: A man convicted for rape and murder of a pregnant woman three years ago was finally pronounced with death sentence by the district and sessions court here on 20^th February, Tuesday.

The accused Prashanth Mogaveera was arrested for the rape and murder of a pregnant woman on 11^th April 2015.

Prashanth was convicted for the gruesome murder of the pregnant woman Indhira on 14^th February, after three years of the incident . On Tuesday, he was sentenced and fined under section 376, 448, 451, 392 and 302 after his crime was proved in the court of law. Around 23 witnesses were heard in the trial which proved the crime.

Special public prosecutor Ravikiran Murdeshwar argued the case and imparted justice to the deceased woman without charging even a rupee as remuneration.

The family members of the deceased were overjoyed after the accused was pronounced with death sentence.
