Siddapur: The fight over the land dispute with cousins gave an ugly turn after a woman and her son were brutally killed out of anger in the horrible incident that reported here at Kanagon village in Siddapur taluk on the late night of 14th February, Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Renuka Kanna Naik and her son Ravi Kanna Naik, while Renuka's husband Kanna Marya Naik was severely injured in the incident and was rushed to Manipal hospital for treatment.

According to the sources, it is learned that a group of Renuka's cousins namely Prithvi Naik, Pavan Naik, Prasad Naik and Ganapathi Naik allegedly entered Renuka's house in the midnight with an anger over the land dispute and allegedly killed Renuka and her son using sharp weapons.

As the Information was alerted, Siddapur police rushed to the spot and conducted necessary investigations. A case has been registered in Siddapur police station.
