New Delhi: On Friday morning, a flight carrying 212 Indian nationals, including 211 adults and an infant, arrived at the Delhi airport from war-torn Israel. Union Minister Rajeev Chandrashekar was present at the airport to receive the evacuees.

This evacuation was part of Operation Ajay, initiated by India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), to repatriate Indian nationals from Israel. The individuals were part of the first group to board a specially chartered flight from Tel Aviv to India.

The operation was prompted by the ongoing conflict, with Hamas launching attacks on Israel from Gaza, followed by Israeli retaliatory actions, resulting in over 2,500 casualties. Israel has responded with a substantial counter-offensive in Gaza.
