Karwar (DHNS): With the conclusion of the nomination withdrawal process on Monday, the final picture of the Assembly election fray has become clearer.
As many as five aspirants withdrew their nomination papers in the six constituencies of Uttara Kannada leaving a total of 57 candidates in the poll fray.
A total of 64 candidates had submitted 101 sets of nomination papers. Two nominations were rejected during scrutiny. On Monday, two independents withdrew their nominations in Kumta and one each in Sirsi, Yellapur and Karwar constituencies.
Finally, nine candidates are left in the fray in Haliyal constituency, 11 in Karwar, nine in Kumta, nine in Bhatkal, 10 in Sirsi and nine in Yellapur.
