Udupi: Praveen Arun Chowgule, the primary suspect in the Nejar quadruple murder case, has been relocated from the district prison in Hiriyadka, Udupi. Udupi Superintendent of Police, Dr. Arun K, confirmed the move, citing security concerns as the motive.
Reliable sources reveal that Chowgule has been transferred to the central prison in Bengaluru.
In response to the severity of the situation, the Prison Department has been instructed to heighten security measures and implement additional precautions.
Following his arrest, Chowgule was confined to a segregated cell.
The court, on November 22, remanded him to judicial custody for his alleged involvement in the brutal murder of four family members in Tripti Layout, Nejar, under Malpe police station jurisdiction on November 12.
