Bhatkal: The Voter Awareness Program, jointly organized by the Students Welfare Wing of Anjuman Degree College, Bhatkal, and the Bhatkal Town Municipal Council (TMC), was recently held at the college campus. The program aimed to educate students and staff about the significance of voting and their role in shaping the nation's future.
Mr. Shivanand Allur, the Chief Officer of the Bhatkal TMC, stressed the responsibility of every citizen to conscientiously cast their vote for the betterment of the country and democracy. He urged students to reject bribes and support deserving candidates who can effectively represent their constituency.
The Principal of Anjuman Degree College, Prof. MK Shaikh, delivered a presidential address, highlighting voting facts in India. He emphasized the importance of voting beyond caste and religious considerations and encouraged everyone to carefully evaluate candidates to elect competent leaders for the nation's progress.
Following the speeches, an oath-taking ceremony was conducted under the guidance of Mr. Venkatesh, the Manager of the TMC, reaffirming the commitment of attendees towards exercising their voting rights responsibly.
The program commenced with a welcome address by Dr. RS Nayak, while Prof. Ganim, the Students Welfare Officer, extended a vote of thanks.
Health Inspector Sujaya Suman was also present.
After the formal proceedings, a rally was conducted by students and staff to further promote voter awareness.
