Ankola: Karnataka Congress party is confident of winning 20 Lok Sabha seats in the upcoming elections, banking on the successful implementation of its five schemes, including Gruha Lakshmi and Gruha Jyothi said senior Congress leader H K Patil.
At a meeting in Ankola on Sunday, almost all Congress leaders spoke about the achievements of the five schemes, saying that the party will repeat its Assembly elections feat by garnering 20 seats out of the total 28.
Haliyal MLA R.V. Deshpande urged the party to work on strengthening its organization, saying that it should not be a one-time thing or just done during elections.
Sirsi MLA Bhimanna Naik pointed out that the organization of the party is going at a slow pace in the district, while Kumta-Karwar MLA Satish Sail urged the government to provide a boost to the tourism sector in Uttara Kannada.
The Congress is expected to announce its candidates for the Lok Sabha elections in the coming weeks.
