Mangaluru: A group of six people, wanted in connection with a case and evading authorities for the past five years, were taken into custody by a team from the Bantwal Rural Police.
The arrested are hailing from Uttar Pradesh, have been identified as Babul Sahani, Ram Govind Sahani, Amit Kumar, Satyendra Sahani, Saidan Sahani, and Abhay Narayan.
A case was filed against these six individuals back in 2017 at the Bantwal Rural Police Station, related to their involvement in illegal sand extraction. However, they had absconded to their home state before facing the court proceedings.
They were arrested in Udupi.
