Bengaluru: As per the Election Commission of India's guidelines, a special summary revision of electoral rolls is in progress across all Legislative Assembly Constituencies (ACs) in Karnataka, with the qualification date set for January 1, 2025.
By-elections for the 83-Shiggaon, 95-Sandur (ST), and 185-Channapatna Assembly Constituencies are scheduled for October 15, as announced by the Commission. Due to these by-elections, the ongoing summary revision of electoral rolls has been suspended in these constituencies. Once the by-election process is completed and the revised schedule is issued by the Commission, the roll revision will recommence in these areas.
Draft electoral rolls for the remaining 221 constituencies have been published by District Election Officers, Electoral Registration Officers, and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers in all district offices and polling centers for public inspection as of October 29.
Revision Activities:
According to the schedule, citizens can submit claims and objections from October 29 to November 28, with special dates designated for this process on November 9, 10, 23, and 24. Disposal of claims and objections will be completed by December 24, and final electoral rolls are to be published on January 6, 2025. Cooperation from the public and political parties has been requested.
The updated rolls will be available in PDF format on the official website of the Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer, https://ceo.karnataka.gov.in/en, and on respective DEO websites. Voters are encouraged to check the accuracy of their details on these platforms.
