Bhatkal: The Anjuman Institute of Technology and Management (AITM) Bhatkal celebrated its 44th college anniversary and 40th graduation day on Sunday. During the event, certificates and mementos were awarded to final-year engineering students, and prizes were distributed to winners of various competitions.
The chief guest, Dr. V. Ramachandra Murthy, Assistant Director and Senior Professor of the Biotechnology Department at MIT Manipal, delivered an inspiring speech. He emphasized that graduates are entering the workforce at a time when India is increasingly integrating with the global economy, leading to more attractive job opportunities and competitive pay packages within the country.
Dr. Murthy highlighted India's significant progress over the past 77 years in various sectors, including agriculture, healthcare, industry, infrastructure, information technology, research and development, and knowledge wealth. He pointed to the Union Government's Vision Viksit Bharat 2047, which aims to make India a superpower by its 100th year of independence. He encouraged graduates to actively contribute to this vision by embracing new technologies and seizing opportunities.
Reflecting on his own graduation, Dr. Murthy noted the vast improvement in job prospects. He used Infosys as an example, explaining that in 1992, the company hired only a few graduates, whereas now it recruits hundreds. He stressed the importance of adapting to technological advancements and contributing to national development.
Dr. Murthy also highlighted the influential role of the private sector, mentioning global tech giants like Microsoft, Apple, Google, Nvidia, and Amazon, which are actively seeking graduates from India. He urged the youth to rise to the challenge, expressing confidence in their ability to achieve ambitious goals and make the country stronger and more self-reliant.
The program was presided over by Anjuman Vice President Dr. Mohammed Zubair Kola, and the Head of Computer Science, Dr. Anwar Sathiq J., who proposed the vote of thanks.
