Bhatkal: Another drowning incident was reported at Murdeshwar beach on Tuesday, following a similar incident on Monday where the body has not yet been recovered.
Despite the high tidal waves caused by cyclonic storm 'Biparjoy', three out of six individuals ventured into the water against warnings to stay away. Unfortunately, one of them drowned. The victim has been identified as Pawan Naik (20), a third-year engineering student from Bangalore.
The group of six friends, who arrived in Murdeshwar on Tuesday morning for tourism, disregarded the advice of local authorities and went into the sea. Pawan Naik was engulfed by the powerful waves and went missing. However, after the efforts of lifeguards, his body was recovered.

It should be noted that the sea has been turbulent for the past five days due to the continuous impact of cyclone Biparjoy in the Arabian Sea. High tides have been observed in areas like Colaba in Mumbai and Kutch in Gujarat, preceding the cyclone's landfall.
Efforts have been made to prevent people from entering the sea in coastal Karnataka, including Bhatkal. Despite these measures, some tourists, driven by stubbornness, disregard the warnings from police and lifeguards.
It should be noted that just yesterday, a tourist from Kalghatgi drowned in the same sea and remains missing, as his body has not been found yet.
