Bhatkal: The Community Life Camp in Bhatkal imparts essential living skills, said Rajesh Nayak, Trustee Manager of the Bhatkal Education Trust. He was speaking at the three-day community life camp organized by Shri Jnaneshwari College of Education, Bhatkal, at the Shri Durga Parameshwari Girijan Youth Association’s auditorium in Hadloor. He highlighted that the camp teaches patience, tolerance, adaptability, and leadership qualities, along with the skills to live in harmony with the environment.
The event was inaugurated by the senior member of the village, Krishna Masti Gonda. The program saw the presence of Karnataka State Government Employees Association member Prakash Shirali, Hadloor Government Primary School teacher Rajesh Naik, Konar Gram Panchayat member Nagarathna Naik, Shri Durga Parameshwari Girijan Youth Association President Ganesh Gonda, and prominent villagers Sukru Gonda and Sannu Gonda.
Principal of Shri Jnaneshwari College of Education, Dr. Virendra V. Shanbhag, delivered the introductory address. Trainee Hemant Devadiga welcomed the attendees, while Anushree and Divya hosted the event. Nirmala Moger offered the vote of thanks, and Priya, along with her group, led the prayers.
The three-day program featured lectures and demonstrations on various topics. Folk artist Damudar Gonda introduced the richness of folk art, while Krishna Masti Gonda presented on the social and cultural life of the Gonda community. Yakshagana artist Prasad Bhatkal led a session on the traditional percussion instrument 'Tala Maddale' with trainees participating in a dialogue performance.
Entertainment programs were presented by trainees, with a display of folk art by the members of Shri Durga Parameshwari Girijan Youth Association, and a devotional dance by Ramachandra Naik’s team, which were well appreciated by the audience.
The villagers honored Principal Dr. Virendra V. Shanbhag and Karnataka State Government Employees Association member Prakash Shirali for their contributions.
